 OFDMA Fundamentals

Technical background in wireless communications and data networks.



Audience:

This course is for experienced telecommunications and wireless communications professionals with a need to learn the functionality, implementation, performance, and driving forces for the use of OFDM in today’s high-speed wireless communications systems.



Course Description: 
OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) allows a very high data transmission over wireless networks and is utilized by the emerging wireless technologies such as LTE. This half day course provides the fundamentals of OFDM and OFDMA systems. The course begins with a discussion of key features and concepts of OFDMA based systems. It then differentiates between OFDMA and CDMA systems. The course concludes by identifying major wireless technologies and commercial systems using OFDM/OFDMA.

Objectives:

Upon completing this course you should be able to:

 

    • Recognize common OFDM and OFDMA terms and jargon.
    • Explain the key features and basic concepts of OFDM and OFDM.
    • Explain why OFDM and OFDMA are being used in newer high-speed data and broadcast wireless communications systems.
    • Explain the differences between CDMA and OFDMA.
